Thus far, I've lost 94 pounds! I joined Bryan/LGH Life Pointe a month and a half ago and try to exercise five times a week; cardio on the Nu-Step and treadmill M-F and strength training M-W-F. The first month I lost four inches from my girth. I feel SO much better and actually enjoy the exercising. Never thought I'd say that!
I've had to change clothing sizes frequently. My wardrobe consists of hand-me-downs, thrift store finds, the free closets at churches, and clearance items. I continue to see a fantastic psychologist on a weekly basis because my eating disorder resides in my brain, not the part of my stomach the surgeon removed. Weight loss has allowed me to quit using my cane, say goodbye to my diabetes, and improve my hypertension, sleep apnea, cholesterol, heart rate, heart blockages, and restless leg syndrome.
One of my brothers bought me a used 2006 Chrysler Sebring, which has changed my social life. I can once again attend church and participate in the many groups and volunteering I do there. A car also allows me to help out friends who needs to get to doctors and shopping. You'll rarely find me home these days!
Currently, I'm cat-sitting for my ex-husband, who was in the hospital and now a rehab facility. That has put my cat population up to three . . . more crazy cat lady!
